You must add here a pro-russian Minister of Education and Science who is famous for having stolen precious books from the Lviv Archives and for his hatred towards the Ukrainian language, Ukrainians, and Galicians in partcular, which he outpoured in an article in a Russian newspaper. He is also going to cancel the Bolognian education system together with tests for school gradutates, that helped to fight corruption. It was he who distorted the results of The Great Ukrainian competition by sending several hundred thousand SMSs to support Yaroslav Mudry and make Bandera only second in this list.
The Head of Security Service Archives - who did much to open KGB secret documents and open information centres in the cities across Ukraine - was also dismissed yesterday...
And this is only a beginning...

I am new to Ukrainian politics, but wonder how it is that in a country where 17% of the population wins an election over almost 80% of population. To a political newby it looks like the Russian mafia has raised its head and intends to drag the country back to Russia.

The title says God help us and from this report He clearly has...

Greetings to you from Ukraine!

We are writing this letter to give you an update on what is going on here in Kiev, knowing that our friends outside of Ukraine are concerned about the outcome of the Presidential election here in our country, that the new government might oppress the Evangelical church and make things difficult for them. Now, we want to tell you the real story preceding the election of the president of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovich the former pro-Russia communist hard liner.

To start with, you all remember that our church played a prominent role in the orange revolution that denied Yanukovich`s victory in the Presidential election year 2004. As a result of that, our church and most Christians in Ukraine had been political opponents to Yanukovich and his political party. About three months to the Presidential Election 2010, Pastor Sunday was having his personal retreat with the Lord where he got three revelations. The first one was that the favorite of the Presidential election 2010 - Yulia Tymoshenko - would lose! The second is a dream where the Lord showed him the face of Viktor Yanukovich as the next president of Ukraine. In the third revelation the Lord specifically instructed him to go and talk with Yanukovich`s team and to reach an agreement that the rights of the evangelical Christians would be protected as the question of religious freedom under his administration was a major concern for us. Of course P astor Sunday knew at that point that this was not possible due to the opposition that existed between evangelical Christians and the party before then. However, God supernaturally opened a door for Pastor Sunday together with a large part of the evangelical church of Ukraine and the leadership of this new government. As a result, a suppressive law that had been prepared by Yanukovich`s party against the evangelical church was immediately withdrawn. This was the first victory for the evangelical Christians, even before the elections.

The second victory came when Yanukovich`s party agreed to form an advisory spiritual council to advice the new president on matters of faith and we had the honor of nominating evangelical pastors into this council. This is a complete turnaround in the political development of Ukraine. So, Pastor Sunday definitely believes that the agreement reached between the evangelical churches and the government of Yanukovich will be respected as they have a wonderful relationship and dialog right now.
