I for one find it very curious how perspectives on the the war yrs are as distorted today as they were in the Soviet Era.
What is especially odd is that these distortions of history are being propagated in this thread by a descendant of Tartar and Ukrainian descent, whose family was condemned to hard labor in Siberia, because they were convicted Nazi collaborators and by a born-again Christian, a Ukrainian descendant, who is married to a mail-order Polish bride. One arbitrarily falsifies history and the other arbitrarily qualifies it. ___________________________________________________________________________ Additionally, I would like to add that no one should be tossed from any forum for their political or personal views, be they deemed right or wrong.

well said Ukrcossack! It is beyond my wildest imagination how Yanukovych could be seen as a leader with demonstrated ability to make the right decisions. Other then to enrich yourself or advance other non-ukrainian interests what was the appeal here? this fellow has nothing of value to offer voters. Granted, Tymoshenko had some charisma and Yushchenko was the sentimentalist who sometimes said the right things but just couldn't get anything done. As Ukrcossack said, they turned out to be the users with empty promises and shallow resolve. Do not fear, the current government is going to show everyone how to get things done ie. questions of russian fleet on ukrainian soil, language, schooling, and perhaps even what runs on tv or in the papers. Have we learned nothing from all the years of enslavement under Polish, German, Russian rule? If we cannot find common ground to agree anything let us at least agree that we want to be free people who rule themselves.

I just reread this thread.
________________________________ Now Ukraine has Pastor Sunday advising Yalynkovych. Is that black comedy or black tragedy??? ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ Slawko, You and Ukrcossack are impressive orators. Ukraine is in dire need of smart and fearless young people, who can help create a new direction for it. You guys should seriously consider political careers. You love your country and you love your people and and you can certainly move others with your political ideas and moral sensibilities.

It isn`t just Pastor Sunday but as I have already indicated a Spiritual Council of Pastors who are not orthodox priests... why do you seem to have a problem with this??

I just call them like I see them.
Depending on how you look at it, the scenario you drew is hysterically funny or sad. In theater that is called black comedy or tragedy. Pastor Sunday, a swindler of his own flock, has organized a council to counsel Yanukovych, and that's going to make everything okay in Ukraine. Are you so blinded by the light that you can't think straight? Read what you wrote. BTW I don't do SEEM . I am who I am and I do not suffer fools well.
