Lyudmila Yanukovych - Not a Heroine
Lyudmila Yanukovych, wife of the newly declared minority President of Ukraine, was last night roundly condemned at a Lidcombe meeting of over 100 Australian women of Ukrainian extraction, at a Commemoration of women heroines of that nation’s struggle during the 70 years of submersion (1920 – 1990) in a Russian dominated Soviet state.
The Ukrainian women heroines cited, died at the hands of Soviet Russians or Nazi Germany’s interests, as they strove for independence (from Moscow) to further their nation’s own sovereignty.
A message was read, to be met with a deluge of approval, utterly condemning Lyudmila Yanukovych for her hypocritical and self-serving attitude during the presidency of Viktor Yushchenko, when she agitated as she does now for the inclusion of Russian as an official language in Ukraine, because as she puts it “ I do not understand that loathsome dialect”
The evoking of continuous racial tension ill behoves a putative:”first lady”
