I was born in Zaporozhye at the time when I grew up in our city 95% of the populations spoke Ukrainian language, then in 1967 Russians came along, at the beginning Russians treated Ukrainians as the friends and Russians were so kind to us, they called us their younger brothers, by the end of 1970 the Russians become trusty and eventually Russian began to force Ukrainian to believe that the Ukrainians who living west of the Ukraine are enemies to the entire Ukraine:. Russians told us the stories about Stephen Bandera and how he was an enemy to the Soviet Union and the rest of Ukraine, without solid proof or a Legend , in case if anyone doubted the story became an enemy of the USSR and those whoever spoke Ukrainian enemies to USSR. So I hated Bandera although I did not understand why? not to mentioned I hate the western Ukrainians but I did not understand why or what for? They hardly even done to me or my families or entire Ukraine as the matter of facts, done nothing bad. Moreover; unbelievably was sad and unfairness for those who speak the Ukrainian language, they became enemies to Russians that meant supporting the enemy language from people living West of the Ukraine , Russians become more forceful in their goals they began to spread around thought that Ukrainian language is not beautiful and old-fashioned and has no cultural those that have continued to communicate in Ukrainian ridiculed, insulted, pointed fingers into faces, do any of you know how humiliated that to the child? I'm one of those children those suffering humiliation, pressure and discriminations on children who spoke in Ukrainian. Not to mentions noone wants to play them , because Russian says so , otherwise you became their enemies, many children afraid and fears to be in that situations, even fdo they likes that child, but they wouldn’t dare to be involved or else you became an enemy . Beside the Russians poisoning entire Soviet Unions against all world, they told us that everyone except enemies they jealous of the USSA. I remember in 1972 one of the girl in high school secretly told one of the teacher that she likes to live in the USA and she adore the John Lennon, the Gazette swept all the news, this girl become an enemy of the people in the school on the morning meeting everyone pointed fingers on her and everyone were screaming boo….. to her, the principle arranged boycotts the Moscow’s head office immediately removed her from the Komsomol and sent her to the corrections facility. At that time Moscow spoke for everyone and in behave of every Country used to joined Soviets. The only radio we ever had is spoken fro Moscow and God save if you ever listened another stations, especially from the USA and UK. After that Russians began so call clean ups of the ethnics languages, at the early meeting principle announced that anyone who disliked Ukrainian do not need to go to classes, in USSR majority of people afraid of the Stalin repressions, especially Moscow does impossible to complaint even do many Ukrainians got a relatives living in different part around the world, no letters can be deliver, and if some one written a letter Moscow capture and you in big trouble. 1975 in my city was left one privet Ukrainian school, unfortunately 95% of Ukrainians cannot affords to pay $30 since the salary was $ 60 no matter how many dependants in the family
By the 1978 the last straws was putting into Ukraine language, any school or names in Ukrainian were destroys and announced as a hostile element and bad influence from the West of the Ukraine

Zaporizhia story sounds like fiction. Never 95per cent of the city population spoke Ukrainian, same as no Russians came in 1967 - they were there always, There existed no legal private schools in 1975, and anyway 30 dollars were only equal to 18 roubles at that time. If everyone adoring John Lennon were declared an enemy - the whole populaiton would be made enemy then.
