Yea, well Yuschenko wasn't corrupt and at the least, he didn't harm the country.

If she really wanted to move to Europe she wouldn't be meeting with Putin so much. With all honesty I trust Yuschenko. I don't know Yatseniuk that much but I do trust him as well. What they support is a free and independent Ukraine and breaking away from the control of Russia which is the only country that has been holding us back. She, instead, wants to be best friends with its leaders. I am not saying that you shouldn't be friends with your neighbors, but its heading the wrong way.

By the way, I don't think Yatseniuk is focused as much on Europe as he is on Ukraine. That kinda sets him apart from Yuschenko and the lying Yulia.

Perhaps Yushchenko isn’t corrupted ( let’s suppose ). All people who he has appointed are totally corrupted. We expected that his local administrations would be honest ( at least partly). Not at all. They work without any control from him and what is the most serious – against him .
He gives them good positions and they support … yahukovich.

His current position is – the worst the better. He battles against Yulia without any rules. It looks like he supports yanukovych.

Yaceniuk talks a lot about Euro-Asian orientation of Ukraine. ( what is it ? )His rate is dropping.

I agree that Yuschenko looks like he is supporting Yanukovich. Personally, I think i support him more than Yulia. The thing is, I disagree with Yanukovich but I know what he is all about. Yulia, I can't trust her, I don't know what she is going to do if she were president. In other words, my hope is that if Yanukovich becomes president his changes wont be drastic and major, if she is president, i just don't know.

I still think that he supports Yatceniuk. He hasn't went against anyone other than Yulia. Fact might be that he doesn't see Yatceniuk winning, which is a decent prediction.

As far as corruption. Well, would it be fair to say that 90% of Ukrainians are corrupt? In general I think that fact is true. Finding truly honest people in any government is tough, finding them in a Ukrainian government, near impossible the way it is now.

Happy Christmas to all westerners!

Well anyway we will choose between Tymochenko and Yanukovich. There is no doubt they will be in second round. The question who’ll be third is strictly theoretical. Yatseniuk is losing his share on behalf of Serhii Tigipko who is big discovery of this electoral season. I believe Tigipko could win third position but who cares?

ALL, absolutely all sociologic researches show something like 30-35% for Yanukovich and 15-25% for Yulia… or TigerYulya as she calls herself in latest political promotions.

Of course everything can change in second round where situation is less predictable. There is old rule. People vote in first round for and in second round against. So at least 50% of Ukrainians will have to decide who they are against of.

As for me Yanukovich has better chances since he is opposition and opposition is the best place to attack from. He is free from responsibility for current chaos and Yulia definitely isn’t. She can’t escape personal and very bold responsibility for country sitting in chair of prime-minister more then a year, sitting there twice… and Serhii, I don’t believe her delirious speeches about “evil powers” that prevent her all the time.

Regional rule will not be drama for me personally or for country. We saw Yanukovich being prime-minister too, nothing bad has happened. Finally regionals have position of republicans in our system, while oranges or better to say post-oranges have position of democrats.

And finally, the biggest mystery of this campaign. Presidential competence is strongly restricted by constitutional reform of 2005. It’s not ancient Kuchma’s competence, it’s something pretty miserable in comparison. Prime-minister has bigger impact on economics and politics then president has.

But they all are rumbling for post which means virtually nothing and likely will only lead the happy pretender to political pension like it happened with Yushchenko.

Rather significant

Russian President vows to work with any president elected in Ukraine

Quote:
Russia does not have its candidates in the election of the Ukrainian president, so it will accept any choice of the Ukrainian people, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has said in his annual round-up interview granted to three federal television channels on Thursday.
At the same time, Medvedev emphasized he would like the future Ukrainian President to be oriented to development of 'good, warm and friendly relations' with the Russian Federation. The Voting Day is January 17, 2010.
A few comments on that:
1. "Russia does not have its candidates in the election of the Ukrainian president" Really? Define "its".
2. "Russian President", what about the PM? Thats who really matters.
