Ya know i love stuff like this. During my stay from August to December, i can explain why there was an increase and i sure did not hear anyone mention the in depth coverage or the increased advertising during September and October concerning marriages to foreigners. To give you a little of the story. It was broadcast on one of the russian tv stations. about 30 women that were seeking husbands, jobs or whatever outside of Russia or Ukraine were recorded over a 6 month period. it went from their work and the money they earned and included the first meeting with an agency in their city. of course the agency name was withheld. The agencies put on one heck of a show for the ladies. Pretty much promising them a new life with money and no worries. Without getting to much into detail, the show aired over 3 days and was 2 hours long each day. Of these women only 6 were married during this time. Of the remaining, 4 were found after disappearing for a couple of months forced into Prositution in another country. A week or so after this show aired, in Eastern Ukraine some of the Russian Satellite Stations were airing dozens of advertisements for marriage agencies all over russia and Ukraine. These people are bold, promising girls anything from Riches to just getting paid for speaking to as many men as they can. Some even offered a work from home job just to talk to foreign men. This really is a huge business in Ukraine and Russia for the owners of the agencies. I guess when you get paid for all letters coming and going, Translated phone calls, translated SMS(text messages) and all kinds of gifts, being paid for by the man, it really adds up to a lot of money and motive to get the girls in the door in any way they can, so they have fresh faces.
For these people it is a business. Most of my wife's friends and co-workers all pretty much say the same thing, They prefer a man from their country that speaks their language, "BUT" they said if they found someone that was faithful and treated them like a woman should be treated, then they would not care where there man was from.

Please do not get me wrong Ukraine and Russia are just like every other country in the world concerning woman. There are always way to many that only want your money!

Thanks Robert
