I don't really like any of the canidates. I do agree with Obama lifting the gas tax is a stupid idea for only three months. It was stupid in the first place to create a gas tax(under Carter administration).
First of all, companies will never pay the tax, the consumers will, they just raise the price of their product to compensate for the tax. I agree with hillary that Iraq has had long enough to take control of their country, but i disagree that we should pull out. I'm afraid if the U.S. pulls out that Iraq will either be invaded by its neighbors or become another Afghanistan. I'm not sure but if McCain wins, he might have a similar pattern to Bush. I agree with some stuff from every canidate and disagree the same Thats my opinion though. Cheers

I personally am torn between Clinton and McCain
McCain for only one reason, he is right about the war Nobody wants the war, but we cannot just pull out All else, to Hillary |

Spare the sarcasm, stepan. Other than his AIDS statement, nothing Jeremiah Wright has said is contrary to anything other Evangelical Christian leaders have stated (e.g. - Hurricane Katrina is God's retribution for homosexuality, the tsunami was God's retribution for unChristian lifestyles). If you read the prophets of the Old Testament, you will see why Rev. Wright states his statements are in accordance with theological principles. As for his AIDS statements, read about the Tuskegee experiment. This does not suggest I agree with Rev. Wright, only that I don't find his statements particularly controversial. I also suggest you familiarize yourself with black liberation theology. You can start with this - Wright's theology not "new or radical" | Salon |

McCain is not right about the war. See Lebanon as an example.

I did read it, Stepan. And you did mention Rev. Wright. It is in the quoted text of your post.
With respect to Senator Obama, I suggest you read his first book, Dreams From My Father. You cannot read that book and come with a conclusion that he is a racist. He writes with love and respect of the grandparents who helped raise him, and has a lovely forward about his mother. He also writes a little about his sister, who is half white/half Indonesian, and about his Indonesian stepfather, who he also admired. He also makes passing reference to the white woman he loved. A racist is one who believes in the superiority of one race over another. There is nothing you can find in any of Senator Obama's words that would support your assertion. |
