Since I live in the most Western point of Ukraine and I'm surrounded by the EU countries from all sides except the border with Ukraine high in mountains, I feel the European trends very well. The right-wing at the moment dominates in Germany, France, Italy and Spain and these are the founders of EU. So it dictates the political climate on entire continent.
I understand though the Australia has interest in US elections, it's quite naturally. Ukrainian interest for example is McCain but the choice should be made only by US citizens of course.
I still doubt how much the promised Obama's change will be. Consider this:
1) There is not such thing as "revolutionary" senator because senators belong to highest levels of establishment and establishment is never about the revolutions. So his "revolutionary" image is just theatre play and PR illusion.
2) Obama is organization man of Democratic Party and such people are bounded by corporative ideology. He will never go farer the democratic ideology allows if he will try to change something radically President is just the head of executive power. Fundamental changes go through the Congress and so he will need agreement of republicans and conservative democrats for his projects.
That's why it's hard to imagine his changes will go farer then it will be allowed by Democratic Party - and more then half of democrats resists him, I mean of course Clinton group. Anyway he will need their loyalty in Congress to implement his projects so the theatre battle between Obama and Clinton will end up the day he will become the President and then they just will begin to cooperate.
