Hello Lemko, the technical execution of idea will be nearly like this: Ukraine and Poland will maintain the line "Odessa-Brody", lines also will come to Georgia from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. The lines between the Georgia and Ukraine will go through the Black Sea.
The project will be funded by all participants, Baltic states will have the deal in concession as sponsors. Everyone is ready to pay and to get new energy so I think the pipelines will be ready during 2-3 years. |

Thats good.
Maybe new members could join in the process such as more middle Asian republics. I understand its highly unlikely I'm assuming that there will be a line going through the Caspian for Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. by chance do you know which company is doing this, or is this a state proposition?

I think it's completely state consorcium... but exacution of certain tasks may be done by national companies, likely they will compete for tenders.
Yes it seems some lines will go through Caspian too. The main success is Eastern republics are agree to cooperate with Ukraine and Europe. This is the key. Finally they realized the Russia more needs them then they need Russia. I heard the Kazakhstan President speach... he said his country is agree to help the nations of Europe with energy resources. Of course he realizes Europeans are ready to pay him much bigger money the he gets now. They feel the interest, it's the main thing. |

Right,
But what you described above, does that have anything to do with our enterence into WTO or would it have happened either way? Last edited by stepanstas; 24th May 2008 at 18:54. Reason: Spelling |

Stepan, I think the newly created "Common Baltic-Caspian Energy Space" is quite independent structure. Now the Asian donors have to use Russian transport systems to deliver the gas and oil to Europe. This situation is profitable only for Russia.
The "common space" is alternative energy way from Asia to Europe which will behefit all participants. WTO doesn't play here any role as structure but I think our memebrship will lighten the delivery to Europe. I hope the US also may use the behefits of new energy way.
