By the way, i picked up on some other thread that you have ancestors from Cherkassy. I visit there there a few times per year so in case you would like to have something specific photographed, just let me know.

Not just ancestory, about a half of a town (selo) Vishnopil' are my relatives. Last time I've been there,I was about 15.If you'd ask me back then where the Garden of Eden was,I'd say:selo Vishnopil',Cherkasskoy oblasty.

If it wouldn't be too much trouble,I'd like to see some picks of Cherkassy Castle and fortress.And ,I've heard there's a statue of Maxim Krivonos there,so,that,too.He's my namesake,BTW.Thanks,dude.

Sakhalin is one of those places,with which you get infected with time.It never leaves you,even after you've left it. so,"homesick" isn't strong enough of a word to discribe it....

Actually i was in Cherkassy last weekend, so it's going to be a while before i'm able to take some pics.

Re Sakhalin: i'd like to visit there. I understand it's increasingly popular with nature loving tourists.

Sakhalin is an outdoorsman's paradise.Anything from diving and spear-fishing to snowboarding and paraskiing,and everything in between.My douther and I went on a fishing/hiking trip there in summer 2005 and we're going next winter for some skiing and ice-fishing.We just go to visit our family and friends there,but for you here's some info...
