I live in New Haven, CT in the United States. I grew up in a Ukrainian household, but my father never learned Ukrainian from his parents. I am trying to find some Ukrainians near me that would be willing to hang out and practice speaking Ukrainian with me. I am 22, male, student.

I can read in Ukrainian, but I also use a dictionary a lot of the time. I have only taken a beginners course in the language and still have much to learn. Unfortunately I have so much work at school I only have about 1-3 hours per week to study and learn more. If you are in the area I would like to talk more, or if you know of any programs that have Ukrainian fonts, we can exchange messages. Thanks!

learning Ukrainian or Russian?

Why not learn Russian instead?

Is not Russian widely spoken throughout
Ukraine?

Why learn a more limited dialect?

Thanks, Frisco

There are orgs in your immediate area, where you can meet and greet others of Ukrainian heritage. There are many ongoing Ukrainian cultural events you may find of interest. Check out the calendar of events. During summer consider going up to Susie Q for a weekend.
