Hi There!!
Just seeing if anybody would like to meet up with a 23 year old Australian guy who is visiting Kiev for the first time on 23rd November. I would love to meet a local who could show me a around a little as i would be in Kiev for around a week. If anyone is interested just email me; lukey1200@hotmail.com. I am a postgradduate student, specialising in international relations; i am very friendly and outgoing and love meeting new people, etc.

INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS!!!!So no diplomatic passport or immunity. Are you seeking International Relations in Human Relationship with another country? Is that your thesis for your post-graduation? I am quite surprised a post graduate student from Australia seeks assistance from that country he visits to pursue his studies as said by him, being a post graduate student in International Studies, which is related to his post-graduatition.I know about the education system in Australia and whatever elective postings,is done with the collaboration of the said University of Australia. Are you visiting Keiv on your own and if that is the case than don't mention anything academic as it may give a wrong impression on your visit.Only God knows your motives.Be straight Luke 1200 and don't take advantage of the situatition if you thought otherwise. The Ukrainians are people with great traditions and culture.
Good Night.

Yes Rajkumar I will be straight with you..if u so insist. Actually i am visiting Kiev - and crimea - so as to backpack. I do not have a lot of money as a student and so i see it as an ideal budget travel destination (similar to India where i went two years ago). As for my academic pursuits i am indeed studying international relations - in fact my real focus is on security and strategic studies, centering on Northeast Asia....alas my thesis is on China-U.S relations, if you need me to spell it out to you. My other 'reason' to visit Kiev is to practice my poor Russian language skills. And, incidently, i agree with you that the Ukrainians have a wonderful culture and is something that i would like to experience first hand. So i do hope that my explanation has resolved your assumed difficulty of understanding my motivation to visit Ukraine....
By the way....the university is called the University of Melbourne...and i can say that we have one of the best education systems in the world (also Australia is one of the best countries as well, for that matter, mate).
So now hopefully you can sleep at night knowing this information....and not to descend into a cesspool of self-inflicted cynicism.
Luke

Cool

Luke1200,I admire the skills in your posting to me as there was a convincing explaination for your visit to Ukraine to a guy like me who had intentionally and deliberately posted to you in such a manner just to provoke you, only to find out your true intentions.I must admit the coolness you had while you took your time to post to me in such a manner to explain your true intentions. And you said my friend in your posting to me that is "Not to descend into a cesspool of self-inflicted cynicism. This my friend I fail to agree with you.A bit of Provocation onto others always brings the true intentions and motives of one's self.Just like how I did it to you Luke1200.
Well Luke1200,I wish you the best and I am sure you can be a very good Diplomat. Thanks for the posting and have a nice day.
