Have you ever thought what is your function in life?
One time when I was 14 I started to think about that and it got me so upset, I asked my parents(almost crying) what benefit does anyone get from my existance. My parents didn't take me seriously at all. They said that I provide a lot of good - for example I eat and go to the bathroom, so I make a fertilization for plants... Maybe you find yourself being a good parent, or hard worker, or you have a special talent, or you doing some science discovery. Well, I hope any of you guys have better ideas then the fertilization. And you're welcome to share it with everybody. |

For years I was a devoted and selfless sister, daughter, wife and mother. My goal in life was to please and to serve without any consideration for myself. Having been a teenager when I married, I thought my only goal in life was to do my duty, live honorably and strive to keep the family together at any cost, even sacrifice my inner soul. Too late for regrets.
Now that the kids are grown, my duty as primary caregiver is over and I find myself searching for the reason of my existence; self discovery if you will. Thus LillyNomad was born. She is helpful, intelligent, charming, sensuous seductress, a comedian, open minded, a naughty vixen at times, and often is sad and melencholy, thus exposing her vulnerability. She strives to protect and shield her inner self by aggressively doing battle with anyone whom she perceives as a threat or tries to get too close. She is still searching to find herself and some happiness and hopefully she will finally live for herself and make Lilly number one for a change. Now I have to spit three times so that I don't jinx myself and get a swelled head. Sorry for my ramblings, but you caught me in one of my moods. Regards, Lilly |

Eveyone's purpose in life is their own, and it must be discovered by themselves. We all have a a speccial purpose, some to bring into this world and raise truly wonderful people, and some to do something that will better the world around us. But above all, our purpose is something that makes up happy to be alive and to live. So regardless of what others say, (and besides the fact that we all produce fertilizer...BTW- some people produce fertilizer with their words) we all have a very important purpose on this planet.
Unfortunatley I still haven't exactly figured out what mine is.... Lilly, you sound as if you have discovered a second purpose. I envy you, and wish you the best in what promises to be an exciting and rewarding pursuit :-) have a great day Mike |

Yulia,
What a wonderful, deep, soul-searching question! I agree with most of what has been contributed so far, in that I personally want to KNOW that my life has been valuable to as many people as possible. My father (a simple, honest, hardworking carpenter) wanted me to achieve more than him and (as an architect) it is perceived that I have this. I want my son to achieve more than me - and as a progressive laywer - this would appear to be the case, and I'm proud of him. However, if you want me to open up my soul and say what the absolute basis of my life's foundation is, I must refer to my Creator's words in the Bible: "Let's hear the conclusion of the whole matter : Respect God and keep His commandments - for that is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every work into judgement, with every secret thing - whether it be good, or whether it be evil" (Eccl.12vs13/14). As a committed believer, my respect for God teaches me that I have no fear of judgement, but I do have the freedom to go into this world and do good whever I can...and know-one has a greater privilege than that. Lady Lilly - please read PROVERBS 31, vs 10-31 and I think you may recognise someone!!!! Bless yu'. |

Well, as I see people are pretty defined(except for now oficially "the best one"
). See, I still think that my main purpose is to "fertelize" the plants and to love the animals. Yeah, I love all the mail animals and serve their needs! As for Andrew - well, now that I know you're the architect I will count you a friend, because I'm going to be the architect.(Although I want to be nuclear engeneer) |

Yulia....'your friend' - I am truly honoured. Seriously, you have very high ambitions - I admire you. My work is mainly domestic (easier to enlarge your house than move), but also a new sports complex and a church job. Generally, very interesting and fulfilling, dealing with different people and giving them the joy of realising THEIR ambitions.
I assume you will be operating CAD - I still work to traditional methods....and I'm too old to learn a whole new box of tricks! |
