Grrrrrr,

Hows that?

Mrs. B,
Did you know the IMF financed the malittia in East Timor. The money went through about five Indonesian government departments to the whover inlisted them. It was done well before the refferendum. The IMF deny it, but there is even proof (Plus, the indonesian representative admitted) that knew the money (over 20 million) was used in forming and paying the mallitia.

It is not a good topic, but it pissed me off...

Just imagine sacking Wirranto, but not punishing him (he is a celebrity there now!) and calling it quits...

:-)

When I studied international politics I used to get a lump in my throat every time I left a lecture. Politics is a dirty game. It is about pleasing people with power and telling others what they want to hear. It is endemic - I am sure...

The IMF in this case turned a blind eye. It is impossible to say wheather they ignored the facts, or if the facts were resisted before they got to the relevant decission makers.

The same goes for the Australian government who knew the Indonesians were making troop rotations but publicised the event as an indonesian pull out. They didn't care that they were being scammed because it wasn't happening to them personally - they would have liked to have just done nothing the same as in 1975.

The same goes for WW2 - England had no intention of moving in except for the uproar of the people who eventually made them move.

Greetings,

Now what I think is that politicians are hired guns in most cases and this means when pistols are drawn there is a winner and a loser in most instances. Phillip my main man needs to go back to school and finish his education and become a hired gun like all the others.
That lump in your throat needs to be remidied to fashion a growl instaed and to fight for what you believe in. To preach the word is one thing but fight for what you believe in little man or I'll find you and see who is all that as a matter of fact.

REX xx
