Talking About Ukraine -boyfriend's family

Hello everyone,

I am from Brazil - Sao Paulo (big city) and meet my boyfriend on internet for some years before we decide to move in together on Ukraine.
He said me that no one like me on his family about the fact that I do not know how to cook. clean and related. Yes. his mother said me that a woman have to do all these, when the flat wasnt cleaned for 1 month. lol
Well, I suggested to her that we can hire someone to clean it and all started.

How can these people judge someone because this simple fact? He knew that on my parents house I never did anything also never had interest on it.

So, why this is a big surprise for his mother now? Maybe they were expecting that I would change?

Advice for American men dating Brazilian women ╚ Brasilmagic\’s Weblog

"Many middle class Brazilian girls from the middle to upper classes were often raised with maids. Therefore, they are not used to doing housework, which is seen as something beneath them. Working with your hands in Brazil is also associated with the lower economic classes."

But you're not in Brazil anymore.
" When in Rome do as the Romans do"

If you value peace in the family and such then try to make life pleasant for your BF.

I started to help him to cook things, clean dishes together.
But is ridiculous this way that divide tasks by genders.
If I have to do alone just to be cool, prefer to live with my parents and deal only with my business.
If they do not like me if his fault because he knew how I live in Brazil and that I am a business girl.

If you'd rather live with mommy and daddy rather than live your life on your own, you can make up your own mind easily.

Go back to Brazil!

It seems to me that you are remote in your culture traits from that of Ukraine. His mother must be amazed, that with so many attractive Ukrainian ladies available, that he has chosen a foreign girl. I know I'm becoming a sceptical old man, but is your Ukrainian man suffering this relationship, because he hopes through marriage he can exit Ukraine and depart for Brazil with you when you've finally decided to return home?
