Hi My name is Diane kucyj . My father was a pow in 1946 and brought to England . His name was Hiyorij and all we know is he came from a village called Wirbir. My father died a few years ago but I would love to trace my Ukrainian heritage. Can anyone help please?

In Ukraine no village Wirbir. Maybe Werbizh?
Surname Kucyj very common in Western Ukraine. It means "small", "low".
