selo/village Dubanevychi = с. Дубаневич╕
Your ancestral village was founded in the early 13th century. It was first documented in 1292. It was named after the oak forest, which it displaced as the settlement got larger. From late 18th century to 1919 wies/village Dubaniowice > Rudki was both the POWIAT (administrative district/county) and the GMINA (judicial/tax district)> Lemberg/Lwow/Lviv region > Galicia/Halyczyna Province, administered by ethnic Poles for the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Dubaniowice did have its own Greek Catholic Church (1870-1892***). From 1870 - 1939 the filial Greek Catholic Church was in Hoscany*** (today Hradivka). The filial Roman Catholic Church was in Mailycze. From 1919-1939 this region became a part of Reconstituted Poland. Technically Poland had not existed as a geopolitical entity for the previous 125 years. Post WW2 this region became a part of SSR Ukraine, until 1991, when Ukraine became independent. Today Selo/village Dubanevychi is in the Horodotzkij raion/district ? Lvivska oblast/region > Ukraine, latest zip code 81541. It has had its own Greek Catholic Parish since 1990 and the village population stands at 1,185.
