Does anyone else out there have parents who came from
Ukraine, became American citizens, and then raised their children in Ukrainian schools in America? I went to an "American" high school in a suburb but before this lived in a few cities where I went to Ukrainian school (with Ukrainian classes that continued at a church even when I went to high school, and dance classes, etc.). At the time that I was growing up, all of this seemed like a burden to me, but now I realized that speaking another language was an asset, as was my entire cultural education. If this has happened to you and you'd like to correspond with me, please leave your email address. Thanks! Xristya |

Sorry Honcho, Looking for Ukraine-speaking pen pals
Sorry Honcho (you replied to my post), because your experience wasn't really like mine - I'm looking for
Ukrainian-speaking Americans (and actually others in any other countries) because since both my parents have died and I don't often see my brother who can still speak Ukrainian (the other one has chosen not to do so), I would like pen pals who will also help me continue with Ukrainian. Thanks for your response, though! |
