hi I want to meet friends in the ukraine to write to.
I have to say on the side about a post I just read, an american saying that he did not care about $75 a month being ripped off of him and that it would barely buy a dinner over here. Where does he eat at and what does he eat? The most expensive resteraunts I've heard of are like $20 a meal and mcdonalds is $5. I now see why many of ukrainians I talk to think all americans have money growing out of their ass, i guess most of the ones that contact them do. I think its worthy of mention because most people I have talked to in eastern europe have the wrong idea of what america is like. |

I guess right is the guy who said scammed are those who want to be scammed. As for the previous post it looks like this guy benefits from the agency, possibly being involved with it. There can be no other reason for standing for scammer so fervently.
Replying to your post, Raymond, I can say Ukrainian people are so friendly that whenever I left a foreign frined alone he or she was surrounded by locals the next minute who tried to make frineds with him (her) talking Russian or Ukrainian and getting surprise why he doesn't understand them. If you travel here don't take first class, always take cheap tickets for open compartmnet and be sure you'll make new friends. And don't be afraid your thigns will be stolen. It's not that bad here. You just need to observe simple rules. |

I know I will make friends in the Ukraine but I plan on actually moving there at some point. I need someone who I can talk to and learn all I can about the country. I can't afford to move there and take trips for fun whenever I like. So I am trying to meet people on the internet ot talk with.

moving to Ukraine?
Hello Raymond,
Where are you hoping move, what city? Where are you from? Have you been to Ukraine before? You will see that most Ukrainians are quite friendly! Like no other countries! Do you speak Russian/Ukrainian/Polish? One of these languages will help you alot. I am living in America now, but was born in Ukraine - many years ago. I visit somewhat regularly. My Russian is only poor (also too English) but many young people can speak English in Ukraine ... if you approach them. Many people in larger cities know English but are a little uncomfortable to use. You will also like it the food is cheap. I see that you like McDonalds, we also have Mcdonalds, but even the very best restaurants in big cities are equal to only 35 or 40 american dollars for two. I too have found that in the big cities in America you spend 100.00 on a good evening out with a date (include drinks and tip ... when each meal is approximately $25 each). Did you say Americans like getting ripped off? Well, maybe it's true. Things are not paved with gold, but also wages are much higher in cities so that something like a $75.00 bill is not so surprising. Don't worry about making friends at all in Ukraine, the people are almost always welcomming and warm. They will quickly invite you to their house for a meal with only a short time know you. Please bring small gift for children and flowers for woman of house if you go. Americans don't usually do this practice, but it is rude if you don't do this I think. Good luck in your move!!!!!! There are very lots of information on internet about history and people of ukraine. There are even online newspapers for ads (eg. http://www.day.kiev.ua/DIGEST/)which can give you help. Take it easy. But I strongly disagree with Irene1972 that your things won't be stolen. Violent crimes are rare, but theft, as in many regions of the world, are rampant!!! Careful yourself. Don't look like rich American when you come ... especially with the police ... they charge you extra and are very much graft.

I agree with Irene. I took a 2nd class train from Wien to Kiev. 33 hours of trip. After 1 hour everybody was speaking with me, offering food and vodka. I had the chance to see the beautiful Carpazia too. I don't like airplanes since i slept in the prison of the kiev's airport for troubles with my Visa. Follow Irene's advice :-) and if you want to know how feel a stranger in Ukraine you can write to me. I live in Kiev. bye

Hi,
I do not plan to move to the city. I want to live in the country side a simple life, growing most of my own food, and perhaps constructing my own house(I do not know if this is legal, can someone tell me?). There may be other people who will move with me. The main reason I choose ukraine to move to is because of the interesting people and culture, also it seems it would not cost a lot for land and living(I ask does anyone know how much exactly?). I want to live in a community of white people and in the united states that is becoming impossible, even if you form a community or group for whites, you get sued and harassed for your desire and its hostile toward only one race and that is whites. I don't have hate towards people, but I am civilised and I want to be around similiar people, every time I am around jews they lie to me and are trying to steal money from me and colored people are yelling and jumping around like monkeys and I just don't like it. I hope that the glorious and wonderful people of ukraine will defend their heritage and people against foriegn invasion as has happened in other country's. I come as a foriegner but not to force my ways on anyone or to steal or con the people like it seems many other groups do. Although I don't want to move to the city I plan on moving to western ukraine. The reason is I want to be around forests more than plains and grass. I speak only a few phrases of Russian but before I move I want to try and learn ukrainian, and hopefully I will learn a lot more when I move. I am not a rich american so I won't have much to steal, I don't dine at expensive resteraunts and it will take me a long time to save up money for the move and a lot of work. Before I move I want to talk to some people and find out all I can about the country about the laws and being there. |
