I won't argue with you about Americans - I know almost nothing exact about them... I believe you as European.

I too am european. But you have to admire them, amazing country and amazing people, not withstanding their current leadership.

I meant I believe you because you are European...

I believe you again...
But! Any nation is amazing in its own way, isn't it?

Without experiencing it for yourself, I cannot think of the words that would explain why america is so unique.
Their success is not about natural resourses (many countries have that) and the use of their minerals, it is because of their people.
Their success is totally, completely, and only because of their freedom. This wasn't given to them, they took it, developed it, perfected it, and continue to defend it.
Sure every nation has that same choice, but they did it, no one else has. Your nation and mine will never do it, we dont have the same mindset that the average american has, as a result we can only sit back and watch, they lead now, and I see no end to that role.

Doesn't Britain have its own "freedom traditions"?

Sure it does, but its a mindset thing.

The british have an inherent respect for authority that americans do not. That is why the british make great soldiers, by that I mean good infantrymen (followers) and poor officers (leaders). It was industrial might that made us great, not leadership.

I don't believe every American is a leader.
