How can love be balanced, Kathy?
The thing is that we do not have pro-communists here (that is good). But anti-communists and pro-communists are not quite antonymic. Pro-communists believe communism is good and others are not so good. And anti-communists believe communism is the worst huthing humanity has and fight not for peace, wealth but only against communism. |

Tempereatures over 80 F in September in Poland/Western Ukraine
Quote:
I could not respond earlier because I had no chance to take any rest after the wedding. I toured southern and eastern Poland with three Americans (83-old father with two daughters, 61 and 40). In fact they were all Polish American because. Tony's Dad left Poland in 1912 and settled in Pensylvania. His birth certificate was issued in Russian as central-eastern Poland was under the Tzarist rule. The tour was very interesting for myself as usually I do not have so much time to travel. My guests visited Poland for the second time already - they were here 5 years ago. Let us say a little about the weather which was really exceptional - September is usually not so warm in Ukraine and Poland, only sometimes we experience taht beautiful late summer weather which we call "babie lato" (l'ete Indien). But this time it was not late summer but just full summer in September! I had to use air conditioning in my Citroen Xsara Picasso automobile almost every day! Air conditioning was also welcome in the wedding house. We still have this wonderful, unusual weather which I enjoy so much. I am sure there is similar weather in Lviv. I will try to write more later. I can only say that the Americans enjoyed (oh, how enjoyed!) Poland of today and only regretted that the country switches so fast to the general affluent indiscriminate global style. Zakopane was No. 1 on their list of interest but they found it hard to compare it with golden Cracow. Helas! Their favourite restaurant was... Hungarian restaurant in Cracow. Their favourite vegetables were Polish tomatoes. [a little historic remark: September this year is as famously excellent as it was in 1939 which helped Hitler much in reaching his strategic goals of devouring pre-war Poland] |
