If you knew you had a degenerative disease that would limit your life to two years then what would you do...Would you live life to the fullest, reconcile yourself to your parent`s, go back to school, read that book you have been putting off.....What would you do?

Two or ten years?
If I had two years to live, I would've observ and study religion, and devolte almost all of my time to the church. If I had 10 years, I would've lived for my motherland, and then when I had 2 years left, I would've devolte myself to the church. |

Greetings,
Folks, nothing gets your attention like being told that you have CANCER. I had this happen to me almost four years ago. No symptoms, active as hell, regular yearly check up, BAM, you got cancer Bill. Please, nobody feel sorry for me. I already had a life that gave me more than I deserved. Family, friends, good jobs, lots of hobbies, traveled all over the world. Like I said, I have been lucky. Anyway, I went and found the best doctor money could buy. My family prayed profusely. Since the operation, I have been clean, no cancer in my body. Still, once you have it, you have to think that it could happen again. With this in mind, what did I change? NOTHING. My family has gotten a little bigger. My daughter and her husband made us grandparents, twins. My son just got married. I have more people to dote over. I still love my wife. Tomorrow is our 35th anniversary. I still have three jobs. My travel plans are complete for the next three years. I enjoy my cyber friends. It seems that we are soul brothers and soul sisters. Life is good. It's all gravy from here on. I wish all of you a fulfilled and happy life. Enjoy. Thank's for being a friend. Bill. |

Greetings Ungaro,
Bill, as you are a survivor of cancer and have had some time to deal with it. I would like to ask you this. Did the doctors tell you that you, as a cancer victim, have a greater chance of contracting it again compared to someone who has never had it? Happy 35th Bill. ![]() I hope that you and your lovely bride of all these years have many more annivesaries to celebrate. Heart sent congratulations to both you and her. ![]() Good luck, John |

Greetings Observer 58,
Thank you for your kind words. On the subject of cancer the answer must be two fold. 1. Even though my cancer was in a very early stage, it takes 3-5 years to know if they got it all. I was told that they were 99.9 percent sure that it has not spread. Still, it is not 100 percent. I was not required to get chemo-therapy after the operation. That is a good sign. I am not worried about it. I get my regular check-ups. Otherwise, everything is as before, full speed ahead. 2. Medical science is not sure about a persons ability to reject cancer from within. A lot of factors enter into it. I was not a good candidate for cancer. My family has no record of cancer. I was leading a happy and content life. My diet is average, with vitamin and mineral supplements. I never smoked. I have not been exposed to any unusual chemicals, etc, etc. I have had a regular check up every year, everything was always normal, until, BAM, you got cancer. As to the question of being at risk to develop additional cancer, they flat don't know. The prudent thing to do is to get check-ups and be on alert for any symptoms. I hope that everybody reacts to any abnormality promptly. Good Luck. |
