Hello Lilly,
Hungarian Gypsy music sends me too. The group called Csardas, I have never heard of. If I were you, I'd go anyway. Csardas is the name of the most popular Hungarian Folk Dance. It is danced to real fast folk music. Mucho Paparika. The other type of folk music is the slow, blues type music. Perfect when you are alone or with someone else. They tend to have a patriotic tone to them. They talk about going to far away lands, leaving your one and only behind. Tear jerking stuff. Particularly, if you have lived it. I have my favorite songs, my wife has hers, my brother- inlaw has his, my sister has hers. I tell you it is party time, when we are in Hungary. We keep the band at our table for hours. Just before closing time they usually come back on their own, just so they can join the good times. We usually close the place. I am so thankful that I have a chance to go back as often as I do. It is a good feeling to know that you can go home. I am sure that if I were from Ukraine, I would feel the same way about Ukraine. |
