I would also like to say the same to the world! It is the beginning of a new second, new minute, new hour, new day, new year, new decade, new century, and of course a new Millennium. Which leads me to the next question: is 2000 the beginning of the new millennium? My French pen-pals say no because there was no year 0 (as in 1 B.C. and then 1 A.D.). So 2001 would be correctly the new millennium. What do you think, everyone?

This is exacly what I was always talking about, it is not beginning of a new century or millenium. But nobody ever believed me, so I dont know. I think century starts from year 1 good point Yenji

And Happy New Year to all of you, too. You both are technically correct with regard to the "true" beginning of the millenium, but anyone who waits another year is going to miss the party. Most research indicates that Christ was actually born in 4BC, therefore the truly technical millenialists likely opened their champagne on New Year's eve, 1995.
Good cheer to all in this New Year. I hope all our computers work tomorrow morning.
Regards,
John
