What do Ukrainians think of Americans?

I am an American and I will go to Europe this summer. I wanted to know what Ukrainians think of Americans. I've heard they hate us. Is this true? I'm so hesitant to visit the country.

It depends what Ukrainians you are talking about. When I think about your question I can think about two groups of Ukrainians: the ones who've never been to USA, and the ones who have been to USA.
First group adores Americans, for those people any american soul is kind, intelligent, rich, and has other good qualities.
When those Ukrainians come to US they turn into second group of Ukrainians who become very disappointed in Americans, and mostly come to a conclusion that Americans are dumb and simple minded. So, you are safe as long as you spend your time with the first group of Ukrainians which makes up 99.9% of population.
Indeed Americans not great, nor simple-minded. They are just a normal average nation (mostly )

Yenji, as a general statement Ukrainians are predisposed to like Americans, especially young American visitors, who are almost always well-behaved sorts with good intentions. You will find that The Great Patriotic War is not yet a distant memory, and in that war America was on the proper side (except for a select bunch in western Ukraine, who thought the Germans were pretty cool). So by all means, visit Ukraine. You will be treated as well as anyone gets treated. It's a beautiful place that you will always remember. And, Zhenya, quit scaring the American kids. When they visit Ukraine, they bring money with them. Yenji, don't you pay any attention to what Zhenya said. ALL Ukrainians just LOVE Americans, because they just know everything, and are so cool. Right Zhenya? Right?

When I just came to America, they placed me in very low classes, because I didn't speak English. Honestly, I thought that those kids are either really dumb or retarded. I've never met people that were so stupid. Then I took right classes and I saw some of the brightest and the most intellegent people in my life. So, I can't say anything about that.
Only one thing that all Americans seem like is that they are very secretive people. They always smile at you and say "Hi!" but you never know how they really feel.(not that it sis a bad or a good thing)

Oh! Of course I was wrong. American kids are wonderful!!! And we love you guys!
I remember this time when I went to international camp in Ukraine, there were a lot of German, Ukrainian and French kids and there were also two Americans. Poor kids were scared to hell when Germas walked naked on the campus and when French guys danced their metallica dances. But especially when Ukrainians were getting drunk and sang songs.
They actually got together time to time and sang National Anthem.
So, come to Ukraine, spend fricking money and enjoy the life!!!!
