I think the name of topic says for itself...
Yes, I would like to discuss our views to different religions: Christianity: orthodox, catholics, baptists, etc., Islam, Hinduism, etc,etc,etc...
What do feel you about them and which one of them mostly appeals to you?
Thank you.
Marina

Hey Marina, this is very interesting topic you opened, of course I can see lots of fights here in future. But then again one smart man said "Truth comes out of arguing..."
Well, what I personally think about religion, any religion, there is some purpose to it, maybe political or cultural. Long time ago people didn't know what thunder and lightning are and were scared of it, so they made up gods of thunder and lightning. Now people don't know what is life and death so they have other religions which explane all that. Maybe they should stop believing and start seeking for truth themselves.
Of course I might be wrong and then I'm going to hell.
My family is Ukrainian Orthodox and we still faithful to our church, although many of our friends are now going to pentacostal or catholic churches. I think Orthodox churches are very beautiful and have some magic to them. Of course I don't like the idea of Kuchma building temples, while some of his people are starwing.

Zhenya is an unknown quantity at this point
I don't think this is a good topic for this board, because in order to discuss and compare different religions we, people, need to be professionals in this area. But now I sense that huge fights are going to come up because someone will offend someone with his simple uneducated religious views.
Let's talk about something that cannot be proved, like what do you think God is if you think that he IS. Do you think that he is?

WBR, Zhenya.

Zhenya,
you don't have to be an expert to express your point of view
All of us do know certain things about this and that...if you don't want to discuss this topic start another one.
Even if there are fights here later on,
as Yulia comments about the truth being found in arguments...
That is why we join this forum: the share the points of view, the knowledge and experience...
Regards,
Marina

Hi,everybody!!!!
I think it's a very nice topic, though really we don't know much about the religions. But it'll be nice to hear your opinions. As for me I respect all of them when I know that the belief is worth of it and I can understand it.Something that you can explain to other people, make them understand...
One must not be scared of God,we must think of Him all the time if our faith is real.I think that God is someone whom we cannot describe, who can't have any relatives, who cannot be an animal or stone,tree(Hinduism)...
Marina,as you started this topic, what do you think of different religions????
Regards,
N.

I'm Orthodox, but I don't buy into any of it anymore. I have a friend who says he is a "Frisbeeterian." He says that's the faith where people believe that when you die your soul flies up on the roof of a garage and you can't get it back down again. That's my kind of God.
Best regards,
John
