I do not know about the flag of the Russian Federation. I do know that the Red Flag originates from the French Revolution. The French Patriots waved their bloody shirts as they battled the Oligarchy. Later the Red Flag became the symbol of the struggle between the oppressed and the oppressor.
The Bolsheviks adopted the Red Flag from the French Revolution. The French Patriots also gave us the slgan: LIBERTY, EQUALITY, BROTHERHOOD. I would hope that we could adopt these words also, and conduct our conversations based on those princeples.
