Re: My President speaks fer me

You point is well made Zhuk. I also thought your reference to the crusades was very interesting.I have read some of your other postings and it is clearly a subject you are well informed about. There was a radio program here not so long back about them. I could only catch some of it as I was driving to work at the time, but you posting made me think back to the issues they raised which were quite similiar in conclusion. I suppose with our own 'checkered' European past, it makes us more cautious about making sweeping generalisations. Shame this cannot be said for some other people here. It does remind you though, that the roots of conflict often have very long pasts (as seen in Bosnia and Kosovo, to name but two recent events).'Those that do not learn the lessons of history are destined to repeat them' |

God Bless America ! our most loved capitalist state...
I wonder what those unfortunate employees of Enron think of that statement ! No job, no savings, (all gone down the drain by way of useless shares) no pension, that's gone as well. These are not Taliban or terrorists, but American citizens. Since the yanks treat their own like that...what chance has a foreigner in their hands. |

Mr. Bush's address re state of the American Union, it's at war and in resession. Iraq, Iran, and North Korea were singled out as 'enemies' who are going to 'get it' This sounds like Albania in the lasst decade, believing, or trying to have its citizens believe that the enemy is all over the place. For those who are interested in addressing the balance see http://www.johnpilger.com, and don't be led and said by your politicians !

I agree John. Pilger's web site is a good way of redressing the balance on such matters- and he speaks from extensive experience.
I see the Onion has also chucked is cent's worth in too, worth reading for a laugh...but like all satire, there is s certain frightening element of truth to it as well http://www.theonion.com and it isn't written by us hopeless Europeans either |

TA! TA!
Hi,
While Europe is wayyyyy past it greatest time in history one must remember the present and European conditions. (1) Too many people for such a small space. (3) Run over by immigration to the free socialist programs (8) The new Euro will put the economy in reverse. (2) No military strength in prortion to population and economics. (4) A voice crying to be heard and seen as all-knowing but lacking anything other words in most cases. (5) Cost of living is way too expensive and the per-capita wage for Europe is the lowest in the developed word. (6) The future of Europe has little if any true prospects as it has devoured itself too many times over. CameoJoe |
