AMERICA: IMMIGRANT TB A BIG PROBLEM THERE TOO!

The Minneapolis Star Tribune has asked ProjectUSA to publish its
response to our last issue
(http://projectusa.org/Ezine%
20archives/us_immigration_ezine.html#033001),
in which we criticized its March 23 editorial on mass immigration and
its role in the rampant spread of tuberculosis (TB).
In its editorial, the Star Tribune noted that immigration is far and
away the primary cause of the TB threat now facing American citizens
and
offered as a solution a U.S. funded global rescue program to cure the
one out of three citizens of other countries who are now infected
with
new and increasingly drug-resistant strains of tuberculosis.
However, "cracking down on immigration," the paper editorialized, was
not a solution because first of all we are a "land of immigrants"
and,
besides, the United States is "largely to blame" for the global TB
epidemic since we haven't given the world enough money.
We criticized this on the grounds that: 1) the idea of America as a
"land of immigrants" is both meaningless and false since immigrants
make
up only 10% of our population, while if ancestry is included ALL
nations
are "lands of immigrants," and 2) by blaming the United States for a
global TB epidemic, and suggesting that because of this we
can't "crack
down on immigration" to protect U.S. citizens, the Star-Tribune is
essentially saying Americans deserve a government policy that exposes
us
to a dangerous health risk.
One editor at the Star Tribune, Jim Boyd, accused us of "distortion,"
and "dared" us to publish the entire editorial. We have posted the
editorial, with the objections we received from the editorial page
editor, Susan Albright, and our comments, at:

The Minneapolis Star Tribune has long been an active promoter of mass
immigration and has even worked with the Ford Foundation to encourage
the record-breaking wave of immigration that now has us growing at a
faster rate than China. We believe that to continue current policy
in a
world that adds another United States in population every four years
is
dangerous, benighted and irresponsible. What do you think?

You can also contact your local paper and express your feeling that
it is unfair to risk American lives simply for the cheap labor benefits
of mass, uncontrolled immigration.

Lilly is on a distinguished road
Thumbs up

This has been an ongoing problem in Canada for years. The government is trying to relegislate certain laws pertaining to immigration, where testing is mandatory before arrival, but that is only a band-aid solution.

MY BELOVED,

There is but ONE SOLUTION to the multitude of PROBLEMS BESETTING MANKIND, and we have discussed it in another forum. The future landscape is so bleak and uninspiring that no artist would dare paint it. Have you not said, My soul flees it in terror?"
