What the hec Buddha statues in Afghanistan did so bad to local Muslims? They were there(statues) seems like since the third century and did not bother anyone till NOW? Does Afghanistan has too many extra rockets they do not know what to do with, so They decided to give ancient statues a face lift?

--First of all, in Islam we do not believe in statues of God or human is it blasphemous.

Pls can a Christian or Jewish friend pls input in this discussion by refering to prophets of their religion breaking idols made out of stones.

The issue concerning the two statues. There are no Buddhists in Afghanistan. Therefore, they are not being used for worship. Why do the Afghans need to preserve and protect stone idols they created and abandoned.

If they have been broken they can be made again.

Now to the more interesting part for you (which you will turn a blind eye possibly)............

I think it is indeed shameful how the West have taken onboard this issue of destroying Idols whilst not showing the ppl suffering due to the sanctions on Government - another Bulldog Act enforced upon the world by the US as they continue to do so in Iraq.

Where was the West when the Hindus destroyed the Babri Mosque? (Do you know how many centuries that stood for?)

Where was the West when the Israelis were tunneling below the Dome of the Rock Mosque. (Do you know how many centuries that mosque has stood for?)

Oh yes Mr Andy I understand that stones are more important than lives. The Afghan ppol are facing economic sanctions but this is an unimportant matter.

Sadly, I do not know much about Barbi Mosque...Can you be more specific when, where, and why? I'll apreciate that. I'm conserned the least about the religious part of this.
Though, I still do not understand why are you seeing Barbi Mosque as a perfect excuse for Afghanistan to ruin somethin else.
