All our business in done in Ukrainian, it has to be.

I dont understand WHY?! Why you try to offend us in our site?! Pierogy, Lviv is and was Ukrainian. We lived in Lviv, we build it, and you occuped our land. Polish government prohibiated our language, and never accept our culture. And you still dont want to accept it.

Uncle Jo, why you came here? You dont like Ukrainians? Wonderful. There are Russia, Poland, France, England...

Talking

Grandma, have you woken up today from the wrong side of the bed or something? or is it that time of the month?
It seems like we started with :"where pierogies originated from" and now going into a war against Poland. May be we should slow down a little, uh?

Thumbs up You're right

Hi Lina,

I think you're right. He was probably not trying to cause trouble, he's not Bartosz, but I hope he posts the correct name from now on.

Take care,

Vlas

You are right, Lina. I am sorry. But I hate when the people say something like: "Lviv? What it is? Ah, Lvov! Oh, it is a Polish city!", or "Lvov? Oh, they will speack Russian!".

Pierogy, excuse me, please.

Grandma, I totally understand your frustration! It's hard sometimes to fight ignorance, particularly if you see a lot of it! I think it's going to take some time, before people start talking right! I really hope so!
I believe that a lot of maps are of Russian origin. I've bought one of Western Russia, Belarus and Ukraine that in the US not so long ago. (It's all in English) And it has Russian names for all Ukrainian cities!!! It has Lvov, as well as Belaya Cerkov, Krivoj Rog, etc.
What can you do!
Now, I tend to believe that it's one of the main reasons foreigners have Lviv/Lvov problems! I guess, they just do not know the diference!

On another side, language is just a funny thing in itself! I guess I will never know why English say Ukraine, when it sounds more like Ukraina in Ukrainian! Or why they use Moscow, when it sounds more like Moskva in Russian! And where the hell Warsaw came from? Ask any Polish to name his capital, and it's not going to sound like Warsaw!

Some people just refuse to pronounce those endings!

I don't even know what you guys name it. I just named it how I thaught it should sound in English. It doesn't matter, you guys own the city now. I'm only really concerned about my countrymen and women who were deported by Stalin to Kazahstan. They should be able to immigrate back to their homeland.
