The U.S. missile shield was 'conceived' BEFORE the E.U. Rapid Reaction Force. true, it's not built YET, but it's in the planning stage and it's exactly the kind of "planning" that's likely to start a new arms race.

You're quite right about the mission of Desert Storm. it was simply to get Saddam out of Kuwait.
My question. WHY ?????
I say, so the U.S. Military, Arms manufacturers and politicians-in-their-pockets could keep him on-the-boil for years and years.

Also, please remember, no-one is talking about BUILDING a European Army. The R.R.F involves the re-designation of EXISTING forces.

As for the tv channel (??) i haven't a clue. As you know, there are about 200 stations on offer - and they're all crap.

Have you heard of Gore Vidal? ( old now, but still brilliant.)
I heard him say this on tv not so long ago:

I can't argue with that.
if the U.S. Government tells the people they're in danger and need a shield - they'll get it.

If you belive in the threat of Iran, and Korea...just say so. I do not at this moment (is it more clear now?) But, I also do not think that anyone can predict the future. Neither me, nor people from the tv program...Do you think that you can do it for us?


About Phoenix! There is a big differnce in local and national television! Local news, etc, in Phoenix do suck big time! I prefer watching more national programs...(but its' off the topic)
From another side, I do not want you to have an opinion or give people one, that there is a great propaganda going on, and people hear on the news only names of the countries that might present the greatest thread to the US tomorrow! because they DO not!

I'm quite aware of that! I think that's why nobody started building it yet...BECAUSE too many people have this idea.
How do you know, what stage is it in? Do you secretly work for the US goverment? I do not think that it's all in the stage I think that's it's all in the idea itself that scares people. Will the idea only by itself start the "arm race"? Don't think so...or has it already? Do you really believe that Americans see an enemy in everything that is moving ? If you answer is yes, I feel very sory for you.
Do you also belive that the same Americans are willing to spend billions of dollars, during economy slow-down, just because 15 years from now North Korea may become "dangerous"? or China may get a wrong leader?
I think if they saw a real threat for themselves or a nessesity, the system would be already be build and no questions asked.

...but I already told you I can not predict the future...

I Haven't heard about Gore Vidal, but he has a point of his own. Though, I do not see the conection between Americans being told by the goverment that they need a system to protect them, and everybody jumping into it, because "our US goverment said so" This is not a Soviet Union for God's sake!
