golden fish - mystical character?

Hello.

We have a tale about a fisherman and a golden fish who fulfilled his many wishes. English speakers, do you have the same character in English folklore? I am asking because I got a lovely card with cat looking lustfully at golden fish and wonder if I can use it as a B-day card, saying something like "may golden fish fulfil your wish" but not as cheezy.

Thank you.

Thank you. I see you also live in Bristol. Are you going to Lord of the Dance at Hippodrome?

AkMike is on a distinguished road
We've seen 2 of Michael Flatley's productions, Lord of the Dance and River Dance.
They are wonderful and you'll enjoy it!

I have done, and still couldn't see all the moves of their feet, though intently watched them in the binocular. These guys are phenominal. But I have to say, I enjoyed Irtish dancing in Dublin pubs far more. Show is just too choreographed and too perfect. Anyway, I have watched it now, I can put a tick to it.
