Translation Ukraine to English
I am trying to translate some pages from a book written in Ukrainian into English with the use of my computer. When I scan the pages to the computer they go straight to My Pictures, from there I cannot get any further. Can anyone please tell how to go about it before I pull my hair out trying. I know our computers do different things and realize that the translation will not be perfect, so long as I get the gist of what has been written. Thank you in advance.

Once it is in your pictures use the right mouse button and an option to SEND IT TO should be one of the choices. You can send it to a document file.
You can also highlight the page right click your mouse and hit copy. You can then go to GoogleTranslate and and paste it into the area to be translated. Hope one of these suggestions help you. |

Thanks for your assistance babaof2. Unfortuanetly my computer will not let me do the copy and paste thing, when I right click as you suggest I don't get the option of copy and as for the SEND IT option all I get is a message eventually saying " Sorry, the page you requested contains a file type (application/octet-stream) we are unable to translate. I would be grateful if you have you any more ideas for me. Thanks again.

Format Compatibilty?
It would appear that you are scanning documents into an image format that is basically a picture/image file. You can confirm this by the extension part of the computer file name. Typical picture file extensions are ***.gif, ***.bip, ***.jpg and I am sure their other graphacs/image formats extensions (the three letters following the stop after the file name) that have come into use since I retired. The problem is, in recent versions of Microsoft Windows it has become more difficult to view the full file type extensions in My Computer, or Windows Explorer file browsing programmes.
The answers are thus:- Go to a reputable software shop and enquire about the cost of a optical character reading software that will convert text within images into a popular word processing sofware. Enqire about a digital scanning pen capable of reading Cyrillic and latin characters into text files that can be converted into popular word processing formats. |
