Ukraine Citizenship Law (Dual Citizenship)

Hello fellows,

Well I searched on the internet and couldn't find any topic related to this matter and since this forum is #1 Ukrainian portal forum so I thought it's a best idea to ask it here.

It came to my knowledge that Dual Citizenship is not recognized in Ukrainian law.. It means that suppose of a Ukrainian citizen gets the citizenship of other country he will have to Cancel his Ukrainian citizenship (Passport) and in same sense if someone with a foreign citizenship gains Ukrainian citizenship his currect Citizenship (Passport) would be canceled and after getting Ukrainian passport he will have to get a visa to go to his (old country)...

Is it true??? Or there is some exception?? Just curious but I am sure this will be helpful for alot of people searching web about this thing...

WOW ;;; at this point I have an interesting question too;;; Suppose an Indian grants Ukrainian citizenship so his Indian citizenship is cancelled.. But after getting Ukrainian citizenship if he lives in India with (5 years visas) or maybe he works in some other country rather than Ukraine so there is a possibility that his citizenship of Ukraine could get cancelled too? As he is not spending most of his time in Ukraine???

And suppose if it happens then in that case which nationality he will actually have I mean his Indian nationality is cancelled and if Ukrainian also gets cancelled what will happen to him???

Ukrainian citizenship cannot be canceled in the situation that you described.

So it means that if Ukrainian citizen stays 10 or 15 years outside of Ukraine; his citizenship will still remain valid?? And what about limit? Like a person must visit Ukraine atleast once a year????? Any restriction exists?

You aren't required to change citizenship to live in a different country. It's not like changing socks.

Yes but I asked this question because someone told me that it is important to visit every six month else your citizenship automatically terminated..you know people are great liars ...
