Stalin sent your family to a God forsaken place to die, because they collaborated with the Nazis. As a matter of fact the Tartars were refused Rehabilitation Status for the longest time, because so many of them were active participants in Hitler's military.

Yes, because it is a fact, but I also know that the Tartars like the Western Ukrainians had to choose between the two demons, Stalin and Hitler. Both groups picked Hitler, because he promised them freedom and independence. Stalin had already showed them nothing but misery and death.
