Saint Olga (Russian and Ukrainian: Ольга, also called Olga Prekrasa (Ольга Прекраса), or Olga the Beauty, Old Norse: Helga; born c. 890 died 11 July 969, Kiev) was a ruler of Kievan Rus (ancient Ukraine) as regent (945-c. 963) for her son, Svyatoslav.
So what's your beef?

[QUOTE=dobko;102589]Saint Olga (Russian and Ukrainian: Ольга, also called Olga Prekrasa (Ольга Прекраса), or Olga the Beauty, Old Norse: Helga; born c. 890 died 11 July 969, Kiev) was a ruler of Kievan Rus (ancient Ukraine) as regent (945-c. 963) for her son, Svyatoslav.
So what's your beef?[/QUO Kievan Rus is NOT same as "ancient Ukraine".There's no such thing as "ancient Ukraine" or "ancient Russia".Only ancient RUS'. "Knjaz'"(feminin-"khjaginga")-Nordic title, same as germanic "konung"-NOT a KING(QUEEN).The very WORD "Ukraine" was not known untill the Medival Era. In other words,Helga, knjaginja of Kiev, ruler of the Rus',would be really surprised,if someone called her "Olga, wise Queen of Ukraine". That "someone" would, most probably, been executed on the spot, keeping in mind, that Helga was a viking(varjag,in Russ) |
