But would you forgive your loved one if they betrayed your love? I just don't know if I could. And yet I like to think that I am a bigger person than that and that I would give the opportunity to change.

This is no easy question! That's why I posted it. Ha ha.

"But even with forgiveness, I don't know if I could live with my husband if he cheated on me" - well, that would mean you didn't forgive. I know we are talking hypotheticals but some people think "Once a cheater, always a cheater" and others think that everyone deserves a second chance.

Then what would be the difference between "I forgive you, now out of my house you go" and "get out of the house, you cheating SOB"?

I thought that forgiving was giving that person another chance of not making the same mistake.

But if there is no anger, no grudges or even judgement, then why not go back to the way things were? What changed?

If he(she) repents, you must forgive. Now,it is up to you and God to judge the sencerity of his(her) repentence. As a Christian, you must follow Jesus's steps. So,the question is: would HE forgive?
