Need Advice. Go to USA or Canada

Hi. I live in Kyiv and would like to go to the USA or Canada for three or six month period. And i woud like to do it as soon as possible. The purpose is to live abroad and have some rest for my mind, you know, kind of escape from myself. But i do not have money for such long period of time. So i am trying to find any employment program.

If you could provide me with any information in this regard, it would be much appreciated.

Hello Pitter, since you are from a large centre I would imagine larger cities are more for you. Maybe V-G can help you out. He lives in Vancouver.

I live in a smaller centre (20,000 people) and I think you would be bored here.

I personally cannot give you info but tell you based on experience. I know people that have gone through employment programs in Canada for a few months like you want to do. It seems a lot easier there.

I do not suggest going to the USA (and I live here) because even if you get in, you will not find a temp job. I don't know how it is now, but in Canada a few years ago it seemed to be easy to get these temp jobs with no issues.

I imagine you have trouble getting a work visa in the U.S. due to the state of the economy, I would try Canada. But definantly visit the U.S. if you can.

There is nothing to do in the US. Since you most likely wont be able to get a job here you will just spend money on useless stuff. Tourism is only high for western europeans. The euro is higher and they can spend away. If you want to get away from things, the US is a good place but I know where you are comming from, you have to have money comming in. Just a thought.
