What are you favorite stores and restaurants in Ukraine?

Or what restaurants and stores would you like to go to if you could?

Well I am not in Ukraine but for the short stay that I had there I liked the supermarkets. And the large dept / hardware stores.

As far as restaurants, what I like is the outdoor ones and there was one (i cant remember the name) but it was really nice.
You walk in, there are two sinks to wash your hands. You get a tray and to go down a food court and pick out what you like. A lot of good Uki food there. Then, at the end you pay at the register.
Just out everything was wood or looked like wood. Lots of SunFlowers and it really made a nice impression. Old style mixed with new style.

Yesterday, for my birthday, I went to Yakitoria, a Japanese sushi restaurant by the river. I never ate sushi before and can't exactly say I find sushi delicious but it was interesting and had nice decor, views, cocktails and desserts. Reasonable prices too at 226 UAH for two + tip.

Welcome to the forum, brendan. That's fairly cheap for sushi (dioxin free, I presume ).

Thanks. I am just here temporarily (from July 16th until August 31st). My girlfriend works here and I am researching the organisation and development of the Orange Revolution (so if anyone who was involved is interested in meeting up for a chat I'd be happy to meet up and buy you a beer or two).

Yakitoria is just above Mandarin restaurant, by the way (just up river from Poshtova Ploscha Metro). And when I say nice decor it was nice, but quite minimalist.
