Yulia...it`s ok. If you look at my sentence structure at times, you would swear I didn`t graduate from english class. Luckly, we are not in english class..but then I would take my time edit too so it doesn`t matter. Let the thought move without diversion. How is Chicago ? Enjoying yourself? Liked the museum and equarium..? It`s an interesting city. Not interesting like New York...Ask Stas man. I am sure he will tell you the same. Keep me informed on your happenings in Chicago...

I am an artist and find peace in it. I don't have any favorites yet. I have seen many pieces and they all express or say something different. All art calls out to you in a unique way. Someone can look at a painting, sculpture, or photograph and see something that someone else wouldn't.
I, of course, love the classics, but I do love individuality. I like too many to list. But I very rarely find ART that I hate. I may find some I just do not relate to, but you still get to know the artist, which is a definite plus. Creativity is very interesting and everyone expresses it in a different, personal way. It is worth looking into. Anna... aka Anucia |

Favorite artist: Yuri Gorbachev
Work: Winter in St Petersburg. 'Had the privilege of meeting him in Washington state a couple years ago and picked up that one. Then went to Petersburg early this year just to see what winter is all about there. Fell in love. Then the Hermitage. Too much to even comment on. Massive collection, and some of the world's best all in one location. Then lived in Tallinn for a short while. The architecture there is a delectable taste of eastern Europe. How about Prague? First, however, Kiev, in a couple weeks. I always wondered what the real thing was when pictures were so beautiful. |

I have very few favourites, although I do like the emotive use of colour psychology by Irina Broido. There are some oft overlooked Ukrainian artists out there! Your job is to find them!!
What I feel has been lost in art of the Western Europe is a real need to make art that prompts the viewer to question how he/she lives. In Eastern Europe, there is a stronger need to be filled in the way of reflecting upon day to day living. People of the west are victims of their own complacency - touche, because I feel I fall into this category at times. A gem out there... check out Alex Colville's Horse and Train, 1954. BYE! |
