Hey Steve,
I thought I would reply to you just like you did when no Ukrainians were interested in "sticking together" Hehe. WEll, music...what makes it good, right ? I think that it pretty much depends what you like to do and what you expect from it. Not everybody likes music just for the sake of listening. When I was in high school in Ukraine I hardly ever listened to anything. Well, maybe DMB on a rainy day... I just was not too much into listening. I liked to dance though, and still do. So basically, the most important criteria for a good piece of music was whether or not it was a good dancing music. Latino was the best in this way. You can't help moving to Latino. Well, maybe you can, I don't know. Even Ricky Martin was good for that. Actually his La Copa de la Viva is damn good for jive ( I prolly murdered the spelling )I mean, it really gets you off. But would I ever think of listening to Ricky Martin 24-7 ? Hell, no. Why ? Because he does not have this deep content, that's it. I mean you really have to be able to find something in lyrics if you listen to it quite often. You have to find some depth of thought, something amazingly new to yourself. That's what makes music good for listening. And WHAT is a good music pretty much varies depending what you are looking for. Some enraged with life guy will probably get off to something really angry and shouting ( hmm, i can't even think of an example because I am so so so much far from that ) while some harmless quietie feeling nostalgic about "the dawn of rock" will prolly listen to something like, I don't know, Deep Purple Hehe. because he/she is feeling close to that time period and shares the most common idea and inspirations of it. I like oldies myself - I like their innocence. There's no innocence in 90s - that's for sure! Everything is exposed like in a strip bar.
So, basically good music is something you really can gain from spiritually.
Best regards,
Olesya

Greetings my dear friends!

For me music must fit into my mood which I'm currently experiencing ... When I need inspiration to live, I listen to CLassic(Bach,Mozart), when I need inspiration to move then thats techno, and when I feel so down that I'm ready to commit suicide, I listen to heavy metal, it makes me morally stronger. And by thy punk music, thee experience joy and happiness

Peace and happiness to all!

To me good music is music that can make you think, or question that in which you know or believe, even if it doesn't change your beliefs, I think good music changes the way you look at things in general, get them from a different perspective.

To me music is the universal language of the world. It is a way of communicating without speaking. Music connects us all together and is something we all share and can relate to in one way, shape, or form. It is something humanity as a whole shares. Music can make us feel many emotions. It can help heal our sorrows, excite our passions, entice romance, energize our spirits, or relax our senses. Music is freedom. Music is art. Music has many personalities. It helps us on our journey to finding our true selves. Most of all music fills the emptiness of silence when we need it to.
How was that?
