I am looking for some unique tryzub artwork for a tattoo. I have been searching the web, but most of the designs I found were pretty plain. I was thinking I might like to get a tryzub with some tribal design around it, or something more ornate than just a plain tryzub.
I actually saw a window decal on a car recently that had this symbol that looked like a tryzub, but it was really funky, kinda tribal looking in itself. Then I saw a girl wearing a t-shirt with this same tryzub looking symbol! That was almost a year ago, and I haven't seen anything like it since. Does anyone have any idea of what this design/logo might be? Or if anyone has any cool tryzub artwork, I'd appreciate it if you could share it with me. Thanks! |

It could have been the CYM sign.
If you've heard of PLAST, CYM is the Ukrainian Youth Association. I don't know if it's anywhere out of Montreal, but their sign is like a tryzub but it's says CYM in the tryzub. Here's a picture: http://www.cym.org/CYMware/download/...)_Colorful.gif |

The tryzub definitely has meaning and historic values, and I feel that there's nothing wrong with changing it for "Cosmetic reasons". I have an Orthodox cross, that dangles with my tryzub on a silver necklace. And the Orthodox cross itself, which I bought in Ukraine, in the Yaremcha Market, Was beautifully hand carved and decorated to please the eye. A little old Baba told me about how she first got it, and I asked her why it was decorated. And she explained to me That something of such historic value and memory, should have the time and effort put into it, to show gratitude to God, The Virgin Mother, And The Lord Our Savior.
I didn't see a single church in Ukraine that wasn't Beautiful. They were all hand painted, from top to bottom. Churches have a great significance to them, just as The Beautiful Tryzub, and The Trident, And The Shevchenko University in Kyiv. Ukraine is a beautiful country, that promotes art, singing, and dancing. And I think that it is very, VERY Ukrainian, and respectful to have a nifty design on a tryzub tattoo, just as every Church, University, City, Town, or Village has for itself in Ukraine. Preserve art! That's what Ukrainians do! |
