Does anyone have any good photos of the restored gates of Kyiv from the Kyivian Rus period?
I've been redoing one room in my family's home that will serve as a study. I'm playing around with the idea of doing something similar to a nineteenth century enlish library, but instead using references to the Kyivan Rus. Cork flooring is the start, but I'd like to perhaps some early paintings, sculpture, etc etc. I hear that the Scythians produced some interesting goods from gold that can be seen at the Russian Hermitage in St. Petersburg. If you know of any good sites or have some good ideas, that would be highly appreciated. One good reference I am likly to use is the lion, alluding to the Lviv (the lion city) and perhaps Galician/Halychyna references as well. Anyone with some good ideas please email me!
