Andrij Danilko is no different from Celine Dion, or Cirque du Soleil, or James Cameron, Pamela Anderson, Avril Lavigne, Evangeline Lilly, etc. - they all moved to a larger market (US), as did Andrij. At least he doesn't say he won't sing in Russian, then speaks Russian in interviews on Ukrainian television (Ruslana). Quote:

Well, at least Verka has achieved the seemingly impossible -

I Completely agree with the article. He/She did mention the Maydan, but He/She speaks russian.
Anyway, to brighted up your mood here is another article Ukraine: the video clip recording of Verka Serduchka for his entry Quote:
My mom said that He/She is very funny, i don't know Its more like a kid singing to me Why do i keep bringing up Ruslana, she moved around, put on a show while singin. Tina Karol did that somewhat. But Verka does nothing I will see |

So Verka did quite well. The Serb song was very nice too, and it was great to see the success of all of Eastern Europe.
Yesterday, the Russian media reported that Andrij Danilko was to appear at a Latvian music festival, but Russians said they would pull out if Verka appeared because of the words "Russia Goodbye" alleged to have been sung in the Eurovision song entry (the song was named "Lasha Tumbai"). This demonstrates the political immaturity which continues to plague Russian society. |
