I am a USA citizen.

For those who are also interested - Ukrainian Constitution forbids to have dual citizenship. But being an american I would worry more about losing the american one.

I don't understand this. Does this mean that IF I buy a house and form an investment company with Ukrainian partners then I'll get a Permanent Residency visa? Family included in the partnership?

The point is not in a house but in 100 th euro you invest in Ukrainian economy. You get the permanent residency if you invest into Ukrainian economy more than 100 th euro. So often people buy a house/apartment for the respective money, invest it in the share capital of a company and obtain such a residence status. So you live in your own house, do business in Ukraine and do not need to bother yourself with going in and out.

OK. Posibly I am off the track now, but like most dumass Americans I don't have a hundred grand lying around to invest. I want to retain my properties in the U.S. but I do not want to put my Lady through the "shock" of having to leave her family and friends. It is my understanding that it is possible to live comfortably in Ua. on a $1,200 a month pension. I just need to find a way to keep from being deported after 90 days. I want to stay in Ua. indefinatly but I must retain my U.S. citzenship.

Any Ideas on how to acomplish this ?

Have you looked through visa statuses in Ukraine?

BTW is anybody interested in doing his own business in western part of Ukraine? My father has to leave his business because of his illness and I cannot take my family and move from Kyiv to manage it. He owes a grocery store, wood processing and tile producing facilities. There is no need to give more info here now so if you are interested please PM me or send an email.
____Pitter Pen, Does your father still need this help? I may be interested if he does - contact me here or machinegundave@yahoo.com. I hope he is well. -DJ
