Hi Ben
At 5k a month, you can live like a king here, however you will have to learn the hard way like the rest of us did. The girls are beautiful, but they can get expensive if you let them. It's up to you, if you want to be scammed they will scam you for every cent you have. Life is though for them, locals only earn around US$200 a month (4 weeks) in Kiev, much less elsewhere. There is a constant stream of men (suckers) from the USA jetting in for a couple weeks for the girls from introduction agencies (sharks) to feed on, apart from this the innocent village girls are your best bet if you are looking for a real Ukraine girl.
Being ripped off is something of an art here, a pint beer can between 3grv at the local and 28grv at Irish Murphys, depends if you are a local or not. Most prices are X 10 for foreigners, so smile and learn through your pocket. Just one more piece of advice from a long time ex-pat, try to blend in or the militia will continually harass you for bribes.

Odessa is another big city with lots to do. If you stay there I could offer you my flat for long-term rent. I will soon leave to GB and seek a reliable person preferably foreigner (they're morereliable when it goes to paying the rent in time plus have respect to other's property) to rent the flat.I woudl agree to rent it cheaper than I ever rented it provided I can trust the person to pay in time (to my parents staying there).
