I am 20 years old, my grandparents are from the Ukraine in the Ivano - Frankisco district from a small town Kosiv in the south east. In november last year i went back there for the first time and i really fell in love with it. I come from Australia and have a good job here but there was somthing about the beauty of the people and culture that i want to go back and live a life there... well that is my dreams any way... But i know that it is very difficult as i do not know alot of the language and i would not get a job easily. I have come here to see if there is anyone who could help with infomation or assitance as to how i could find work or advice on ukraine.

Also finance for the trip.. I will take a small amount of money there around $7,000AU and i will have a small income from investment property in Australia of $50pw i would like to visit the south again and spend most of the time there i would really like to know wether i will find work there or how long my money will last.

Thankyou Peter

Wink Dont go yet

Hey Kid, (Well you are only 20 years ),

Stay In Australia or go out and explore the world and make plenty of money, THEN go to settle in Ukraine.

If you go now, without the languages and no job at your age, you will ALWAYS be poor.

Go forth young man and make your fortune, then get excited about Ukraine, they will accept you at any time.

best of luck though

My 2 cents...

Frankly speaking, I do not post here too often.
I just drop in once in a time and check what's new. But I like to give advices and help with the information.

Question 1: "Will I be able to find a good job?"
- First of all, it depends on what's your definition for "a good job". What's your occupation? How much would you like to earn here?
But again, frankly, I don't think there are good jobs in Ukraine now. You can make good money when you work for yourself, not for someone else. That's my advice - think of making business in Ukraine, not of looking for work. Of course, several thousands isn't a fortune, but I know people here who started even lower.

Question 2: "How long will my money last?"
- Again, everything depends on how you want to live. You can live a month with these money and you can live the whole loife here.

All the best

Smile Thankyou

Yeah sorry it wa a little late when i was on the internet. But i guess i am a victim of society and i want things that i see... However i found a program offered by a UK company which gives you the opertunity to work in Kyiv Zoo or as a teacher there for 1-3 months i think this would be good however the price is a little steap. about $2500.oo for them to organise this. and for a host family. I am sure that they dont get that much because that is a lot of money there. So i would rather give more back to the people i meet and help there

So is there any others out there or people who might like to help me out with somthing to do when i come to the Ukraine. i dont want to make money just spend a while there and see how life is there????

Thanks Peter

You have to be careful with pommie teaching companies they have run massive scams all over the world. To teach in Ukraine you need a Uni degree and if they say you don't then they're sh1te-hawks... And you should always check that the Bristish Council approves of them.

Check with the OZZIE NGO's about opps over there.

Do you like Rugby League dude.

Love the NZman
