Peter, I know one British guy of 31 y.o. hwo has lived in Odessa for a year workin as English teacher in private school. Now he's back in Britain for tow month and will be back in odessa at the end of August. DOnt' listen to these cautious guys an dgo ahead explore the world. its' not a dangerous place at all. You will be surprised to meet many foreigners staying here for quite a while and quite a few people speaking decent English.

Thanks
I have found a company in Australia which runs free volunter placments in Ukraine mainly in the Luvil area i think Just north of Ivano Franciskivo. I have meet people in Kociv and Kolomeya so this is close to there so i am planning to go there for 4 weeks on the volunteer program and then see if my langauage skills are good enough to get some sort of work in the area.
What would be the easist place in Ukraine for me to get work if my Ukraine is not very good. And would you say that $60au ($40US) per week be enough to have basic accomidation and support a basic lifestyle weekly Thanks Peter |

The best option for will be to look for English teacher opportunities because they usually provide free accommodation. IN addition, its' a nintellegent work and it makes you the centre of attention and helps to make new friends. As for the sum you mentioned yes it's possible to ahve basic things. You will not starve for this money.

Yeah
I didn't plan on going on to be a teacher it is not for me at all. I have qualifications in that area though. I think the NGO that i found is pretty cool they go to all the places that any travel agent would not go. the last thing i want to do is go on a touristy holiday..... So i am going to plant and conserve forrest areas in South West Ukraine for 4 weeks then see some friends for a few more weeks. I have a small income so maybee i will stay for a while if i think my language could help me get a JOB (not teaching though as i would not be anywhere near that level.) and stay there for a while... But who knows i am still waiting on particulars and Hey NZ Man why do you not like Ukrainians but you post here?
Oh and Congrads on the Rugby VS Aussie.... |
