I’m a Belgian who has a Ukraine girlfriend in Simferopol. Now I want to move over there for 1 year. In this year I will also continue my self study “Network Engineer” over there. I’ve been a few times in Ukraine but never longer then 3 weeks. Is it possible to get a visa for 1 year? How does it work. Is it enough to apply for a private visa, or must i immigrate to Ukraine.
Thanks

Smile Hello, and welcome to Ukraine.com

You definitely have to contact the Ukrainian consulate in Belgium to get the above posted answers.

I know I have to go to the embassy for the best information. But this is in the French part of Belgium, Brussels and my French isn’t so good. The last time I was there I talked English but there English is as worse as my French so we had a communication problem. We had to talk a mixture of English and French to understand eachother a little. I thought it was a good idea to get as much information as possible before I go there and start asking question again. This way I’m prepared and I know what I have to ask. It is difficult to explain, that I want to stay there for a month if I don’t know what kind of visa I have to apply for.

Let me see what I can do, but this might involve you calling oversees to a Ukrainian office. I'll be right back.

That's all for now, I'll return with more info if I find any

Basically you HAVE to approach a Ukrainian embassy in your country, do't worry they speak English as well... If you simply land in Ukraine and try to purchase a visa at the airport, you'll have to PAY an insane amount, they might also keep you at the airport for a very long time.

Here's a couple of addresses for you, contact them as soon as you can.

Embassade d'Ukraine a Bruxelles
Av. L. Lepoutre 99-101 1060 Bruxelles
tel: (32-2) 344 40 20
Fax: 344 44 66
e-mail: embukr@tornado.b

Mission of Ukraine to the European Union
7, Guimard str.
1040 Brussels
tel: (32-2) 511 46 09
fax: 512 40 45
e-mail: missionofukrainetoeu@unicall.be

Hope this helps,

Irina
